Star of Bethlehem

Feb 14, 2020 | Bethlehem Star, My Quilts

This is hubby’s quilt – Bless his heart, he’s given up on me making a quilt for him. I’ve been gathering fabrics for some time.

I designed the layout around the star. The star was made in a class taught by Jill Murchland at my LQS, Sunday Best Quiltworks, Ellerslie, GA. The star block is known by several names: Star of Bethlehem, Lone Star, Star of the East, & Morning Star are the names I have seen.

The star is in the middle and will be surrounded by rows of other blocks to include flying geese, Hunter’s Star Blocks, and Linda’s Tree Blocks (Sunday Best Quiltworks, Ellerslie, GA).
